Women’s Adventure Tour: Arizona Highlights
Northern Arizona is one of our favorite places out west and we want to share it with you! We start in the beauty and solitude of Sedona with a hike among the glorious red rocks. An amazing overlook at Horseshoe Bend and a visit to mystic Upper Antelope Canyon are fascinating. The kayaking or rafting trip will thrill you as we experience some of the most dramatic scenery in Arizona. No visit is complete to northern Arizona without the Grand Canyon! We’ll take in the South Rim from many viewpoints and stay overnight in the National Park. Have you heard of the Bright Angel trail? We’ll hike that too. We even throw in a nostalgic stop in Williams on Route 66. Back in Sedona, we’ll have time to relax and reflect on the magic of this special corner of the world! Join us on this ‘tasting menu’ of beautiful northern Arizona. Spring is the perfect time to visit. We encourage solo travelers on this short and sweet women’s getaway.

Arizona Highlights Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Sedona by 3pm and your Trip Leader will meet you at the shuttle drop-off point. Enjoy a tour of Sedona, one of the most beautiful places on earth, including a short hike with a visit to a vortex. Many people visit Sedona to explore its metaphysical dimensions, especially its vortices. Page Bryant coined the name “vortex” in 1980 for areas in Sedona that have highly concentrated energies conducive to prayer, meditation and healing. Nonetheless, the term “vortex” has taken hold because it helps to explain people’s experiences of wellbeing at the sites. Let’s see if you can feel the energy! We’ll enjoy a delicious welcome dinner at one of the many splendid Sedona restaurants. Overnight Sedona.
I just returned home from the Sedona AZ trip, I had a blast. Canyon Calling was the second women’s touring company I used for fun and adventure. I had high expectations and they were met with no problem. This was my first time hiking, between our Karen (guide) and the women they got me through it. This was the hardest thing I have ever done. I will take another trip with Canyon Calling. The most difficult thing is going to be, which one do I do next.

Day 2
After breakfast we’ll depart Sedona and drive up onto the Colorado Plateau through Flagstaff to Page, Arizona. We’ll hike two miles roundtrip to an amazing overlook at Horseshoe Bend. A social media darling, Horseshoe Bend has become one of the most recognized and visited places in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. We’ll have a picnic lunch and get checked into our hotel. Next, we’re off on a jeep ride to Upper Antelope Canyon to experience the most photographed slot canyon in Arizona! Over thousands of years, wind and water have formed a narrow crevice in the mesa measuring a quarter mile long and 130 feet deep. It’s beautiful and mystical. We’ll have dinner at a favorite local restaurant. Overnight Page.
Day 3
After breakfast it’s off to kayak in the Glen Canyon National Rec Area on Lake Powell. With over 2,000 miles of shoreline to explore, Lake Powell offers some of the most scenic spots including hidden coves, towering rock formations, and sandy beaches. Our kayaking time will be about 2 hours total, then we’re off to one of the grandest canyons of them all. This afternoon will be spent at the Grand Canyon, taking it all in from many viewpoints including Desert View and our favorite, Lipan Point, which has three views of the river. We’ll visit El Tovar and enjoy the animals in the park before checking into our lodging in the National Park. Dinner is served while we recount our fascinating day. Overnight Yavapai Lodge, Grand Canyon National Park.
Day 4
After breakfast, we’ll hike on the Bright Angel trail in the Grand Canyon National Park and enjoy the stunning overviews. This is a treat and on many bucket lists! This hike is about 4 miles total as we enjoy the beautiful scenery of the south rim. Once we’re done hiking, we’ll head to Williams, enjoying this quaint Arizona town on The Mother Road – Route 66, and lunch on some of the best pizza around. This afternoon we drive back to Sedona as we enjoy this time to reflect on all the amazing things we’ve seen and experienced. We’ll fit in time for a bit of shopping this afternoon in Sedona and check into our hotel to clean up before our farewell dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants. Overnight Sedona.
