This eight-day adventure showcases the diverse beauty of Washington’s national parks, from coastal rain forests to alpine peaks. The journey begins in Seattle with a scenic ferry crossing to the Olympic Peninsula, where travelers hike along quiet bays, explore the moss-draped trails of the Hoh Rain Forest, and walk the rugged shores of Rialto Beach. At Lake Crescent, kayaking and waterfalls add to the variety of outdoor experiences, while evenings offer time to relax and connect. The trip continues to Mount Rainier, where hikes at both Paradise and Sunrise provide sweeping views of glaciers, wildflower meadows, and alpine ridgelines. In the North Cascades, shimmering Diablo Lake and the dramatic Maple Pass Loop highlight the park’s raw mountain landscapes. Along the way, travelers enjoy picnics in spectacular settings, guided programs, and opportunities to soak in natural hot springs. Washington Big 3 Itinerary

Day 1

The adventure begins with the group meeting at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport by 11am. From there, everyone will board the ferry to Bainbridge Island for a 35-minute crossing that offers breathtaking views of the Seattle skyline, Puget Sound, and surrounding mountains. Once on the Olympic Peninsula, travelers may enjoy a short scenic walk or hike, depending on group interests and conditions., a perfect introduction to the region’s coastal and forest landscapes. In the evening, a welcome dinner and orientation will provide the chance to connect with fellow travelers and set the stage for the journey ahead. Overnight accommodations will be in Port Angeles, where the group will stay for the first two nights.

Day 2

The morning begins with a journey into the lush Hoh Rain Forest, where moss-draped trees and dense greenery frame short walks along the Hall of Mosses Trail and Spruce Trail. In the afternoon, the itinerary shifts to the rugged Pacific Coast with a visit to Rialto Beach, with time to explore the Hole-in-the-Wall Trail area, where sea stacks, tide pools, and dramatic ocean views create an unforgettable scene. before dinner in nearby Port Angeles (reservations required). The group returns to Port Angeles for the night.

Day 3

After breakfast at the hotel, the day begins with a grocery stop to gather picnic supplies before heading to the shores of Lake Crescent for a morning of kayaking or canoeing on its crystal-clear waters. A short hike to the enchanting Marymere Falls, located near the lake, is the perfect follow-up to the paddle. After time on the water and trail, the group will enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch before continuing into the heart of Olympic National Park. The afternoon is spent at Hurricane Ridge, where a visit to the Visitor Center and a an opportunity to explore the Hurricane Hill Trail. This area reveals panoramic mountain vistas and wildflower meadows. The evening concludes with a relaxing soak at the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort, where the group will also stay overnight, surrounded by forest and mountain landscapes.

Day 4

Departing from Sol Duc in the morning, the group travels toward Mount Rainier National Park, with a lunch stop along Tacoma’s scenic waterfront. Upon arrival in the Paradise area, travelers will enjoy one of the park’s most iconic destinations, known for spectacular glacier views, wildflower meadows, and panoramic mountain scenery. The afternoon includes time to explore the Paradise Visitor Center exhibits, enjoy interpretive programs as available, photograph the surrounding landscapes, and experience several of the area’s most scenic viewpoints and short walking paths. Throughout the day, travelers will have opportunities to learn about Mount Rainier’s geology, glaciers, wildlife, and natural history while enjoying the beauty of the park at a relaxed pace. The evening concludes with dinner in Packwood before overnight accommodations nearby.

Day 5

The day begins with a scenic drive to the Sunrise area, the highest point in Mount Rainier National Park accessible by vehicle. From this remarkable vantage point, travelers will enjoy expansive views of Mount Rainier, surrounding valleys, alpine meadows, and distant mountain ranges. Time will be available to explore the visitor area, enjoy interpretive exhibits, take photographs, and experience the park’s spectacular scenery through a variety of viewpoints and optional short walks. Following a picnic lunch in the park, the group departs Mount Rainier and travels north through Washington’s beautiful mountain landscapes before arriving in Burlington, which will serve as the base for the next two nights.

Day 6

From Burlington, the group embarks on a scenic drive into North Cascades National Park, one of the most dramatic landscapes in the Pacific Northwest. The morning highlight is a stop at the Diablo Lake Overlook, where turquoise waters framed by jagged peaks create an iconic viewpoint. The afternoon includes a visit to the North Cascades Visitor Center, followed by time to enjoy the Thunder Knob Trail, offering elevated views over Diablo Lake. The group then returns to Burlington for another night.

Day 7

The final full day of adventure is spent in the North Cascades. Depending on conditions, travelers may choose to hike portions of the Maple Pass Trail based on conditions, interests, and ability levels, which showcases alpine lakes, wildflowers, and expansive mountain views. After a picnic lunch in the park, the group begins a scenic return drive back toward Seattle, arriving by early evening at a hotel near the airport. This evening marks the conclusion of the guided portion of the trip, with time to reflect on a week of unforgettable landscapes and shared experiences.

Day 8

Following breakfast, travelers will depart from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, carrying with them memories of the Olympic Peninsula’s coastline, the majesty of Mount Rainier, and the rugged beauty of the North Cascades.
